Sunday...

Before we get stuck in today (drawing and digitising!) - we had a very long lazy lie in...and a nice leisurely breakfast.

The sun is streaming in the window at chez abigail*ryan... a turquoise sycamore teatowel catches our crumbs and my brand new anthropologie butterdish is christened... a pretty nice start to our day...

Bon weekend to you!

Pen on paper...

Hello there!

Just stopping in to share some previews of some of the drawings I have been feverishly working on for the past wee while... these are in turn currently being worked on by Ryan to turn them into artwork for our brand new tea-towel designs which we will be launching ahead of Christmas!

Above are clusters of Hydrangea buds and opening blooms, and budding Agapanthus... Dahlia is already finished, and we're so excited...can't wait to see them printed... :)

As you can see, the sun was streaming through the window this morning after pouring rain...but I squinted through it and have now totally finished Hydrangea!

Over and out!

Elderflower...

Last night I needed something to keep my hands busy and my mind from wandering so I started a new embroidery...

I had been ever so taken with these elderflower leaves I photographed a while ago, and so, decided to start them in stitches on our Irish linen.

This was the work of yesterday evening and I am doing more work on it again today. We are excited to be incorporating some of the leaf imagery into a new textile pattern we're working on, so think this embroidery may well end up as part of a very special abigail*ryan heirloom quilt...

Progress report soon! ;)

Today's Tasks...

Ryan was busy...
Working his meticulous magic on seams...Sewing eight beautiful cushions... four square and four rectangles... pressing each to perfection!
Sewing the quilting into one of our forthcoming new products - cafetiere (french press) cozies!
Quilting (beautifully!) two pot-holders for me to begin binding soon... the texture is amazing (one is print cotton on both sides and one has a linen back)...heat proof loveliness! :)

Phew, right?! I don't have a shot of the cushions finished as it got dark - but this is what they look like...

Abigail was busy...

Cutting fronts and backs for cushions that Ryan was sewing... four square and four rectangles...linen and our cotton...Preparing fabric swatches of all our fabrics and colourways for a press enquiry...
Labelling the backs of all our swatches (don't you love a pinking sheared edge?)...
Parcelling up the stack of fabric swatches in our swatch box packaging... finish with a bow!

We worked very hard this long day... so now we are sitting down watching an extremely odd film... (Odd enough I have let my concentration wander off enough to blog ;))... looking forward to bed and then more work tomorrow.

What were your tasks today?

Happy Friday :)
