"From Process to Pattern" at ATELIER DESIGN...

I tried to cut down the images for this post, honest, I really did (there were 254, all in!)... but there's just too much goodness to share, so I just had to show all our favourites!

This past month, we've had an exhibition on at Atelier Design, one of our lovely Interior Stockist, in Belfast city centre called "From Process to Pattern". Against the backdrop of their stunning Interiors & Furniture show room, the display housed our abigail*ryan fabrics, wallpaper and cushions, along with some of our original design drawings, wallpaper strike offs, fabric colour-sampling and inspiration boards... we had a lovely opening night a few weeks back, so a big thank you to all who came along.

As a little bit of back-ground to Atelier Design (one of our most favourite spots in Belfast to shop in, browse and feel inspired!)... it's a gorgeous top-floor show room on Wellington Street, and the dream-child of Architect James Fairley, and Interior Designer, Victor Branco. Together, they have established themselves as ones of Belfast's leading Interior Design studios, and also deal in high-end Mid-Century furniture with a custom design service. Victor & James create an incredible haven of the very best in contemporary Interiors, along with their carefully curated vintage finds. Together, it makes for a beautiful signature style that the design duo have succinctly and accurately coined "Urban Luxe". We are so in love with their ever evolving space, we would move in in a heart-beat... it is elegant, beautiful, luxurious, contemporary and edgy, all at the same time. They have the BEST taste.

Additionally, James & Victor are two of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, and it's always a pleasure being in their company!

The next Art at Atelier opening is on the 5th of June, and will showcase the beautiful Ceramics of Rebecca Killen. Do pop in and say hello.

A HUGE thank you to James & Victor for putting on such a beautiful show, and so tirelessly promoting and loving our brand!

abigail*ryan - Our New Collection, Photo-shoot...

We thought we would stop in and share some photos from our recent photo shoot, which took place in early September.

Our wonderful photographers, Brideen Baxter and Deci Gallen at Photography by Brideen were a dream to work with, and we're delighted with the finished images. Thank you so much B&D! We had such fun styling the photos, and it was a really intense (and long) day, but utterly worth it.

Our NEW fabric and cushions will be ready, and in the shop very soon and our wallpaper is online right here!

We hope you love the new pictures, and collection, as much as we do!

The Craft House at Hartley Hall...

We were contacted several months ago by the lovely Interior Designer & Stylist and Jacob Street owner, Maureen Collins, to take part in The Craft House - a specially curated show home at Hartley Hall in Greenisland, which showcased some of the best art and design talent in Northern Ireland.

Well, the house was completed a couple of weeks ago after a huge amount of hard work and creativity from Maureen, and the Press Launch was last Friday evening.

We went along, and it was lovely to get chatting to all the other designers and makers who had taken part. I snapped some pictures of our Wallpaper, Cushions and Fabric which had been used upstairs in the second bedroom. We absolutely loved seeing the Cosmo Florimetric Fabric on the beautiful antique chair Maureen had chosen... and our Wallpaper used to line the fab Deco-style wardrobe she had also painted.

Hartley Hall Craft House, in Greenisland, is open on Sunday's 2-4pm. You can read a bit more about it on their facebook page, and on their blog, the Crafty Rabbit.

Thanks so much to Maureen for doing such a lovely job with our wares!

AO at Home giving a*r some serious LOVE!

We're big fans of the AO at Home blog... it's just plain gorgeous, and the mix of articles and interviews is fab! It's editor, in case you don't know, is the super lovely Kimberly Hughes of Swoon Worthy blog fame... (honestly, her house is to die for...I've been following her kitchen and bathroom renovations recently, and cannot wait to see the finished result).

Kimberly interviewed us for the AO at Home blog a few weeks ago. You can read the interview with us, right here. We love the layout and graphics that Kimberly created for the layout, it's really gorgeous.

Just the other day, Kimberly put together this pretty buying guide for a Feminine Home Office. We were delighted she chose our Rose Flamingo Wallpaper for the scheme, and think it would be a stunning space to work in - I'm secretly dreaming of creating this at home, but sadly we don't have the room as my 'office space' is now 'storage space' for lots of Wallpaper! - and I would just love to see it come to life.

Thanks so much for all the a*r love recently Kimberly, so happy to have met you!

Decorating with abigail*ryan Wallpaper...

Okay... I'm having FAR too much fun with this virtual decorating lark and starting to feel a little disillusioned when I look around my own bedroom! Anyway, onward to scheme number three...

Today, I've had fun decorating a bedroom space with our Cosmo Maraschino papers, and cushions (I would also choose curtains in our matching fabric, but that's an aside). I love eclectic and maximalist interiors, and really enjoyed playing up the deep blue in the Maraschino print - the line work is a lovely vibrant navy - and adding pops of orange which further compliments the blue. The gorgeous boucherouite rug, a huge trend right now, has enough colours in it that you could play up any number of other hues to avoid everything feeling too 'matchy matchy', but, I loved mixing in lots of vibrant neon pinks, along with the blue and orange, as this Wallpaper really does wake up a room and I wanted the pink to remain the star!

It's tricky to find unusual bedroom furniture, especially gorgeous bed-heads, so I have been obsessed with this one ever, and the matching chair, since finding it on Pinterest. Well worth shipping from Australia, right? That's what I'm trying to convince Ryan of, anyway...

I think I would pick out the wet concrete grey colour from the Cosmo flower backgrounds as my paint or woodwork colour (Farrow and Ball do especially gorgeous eggshell paint, which is beautiful for woodwork)...

What do you think? Would you like this paper as an accent behind your bed, or would you be brave and go ALL OVER?!

Hope you're enjoying this little series and it's inspiring you to consider a*r Wallpaper for your home!
More, soon.

Abigail x

Our new abigail*ryan Collection - a Preview...

Well, hello! I'm feeling especially chipper as the sun is well and truly shining in Belfast, we've just spent the last couple of hours sitting on our deck knitting and I am full of the joys of Spring (yes, I know it's almost Summer, but as we skipped Spring, I don't want to get too ahead of myself!)...

Sandals on, Sunglasses at the ready! Perfect.

We have a brand new collection for Home to unveil and preview, too, which is something I'm also really happy about!

We received the first shots back from the photographer last week, so we could finally put the items up on our site to preview for the next couple of weeks as we wait for final stock to arrive... it's been a real labour of love, so we hope you like the new designs as much as we do.

Cue: Wallpaper, Napkins, Cushion collection (and soon, Yardage!)...

a*r in Red Magazine...

We were absolutely delighted when our friend Kelly alerted us that one of our cushions at Liberty has ended up gracing the pages of the March edition Red Magazine! I have been reading Red since it launched, and have always loved it...

We were even more delighted when we actually saw the spread and the feature, Pretty Modern, which has me gasping at the gorgeous colour-palette and beautiful cyclamen blooms adorning the pages... our Sycamore Scatter cushion in Coral & Seafoam is sitting atop a gorgeous stack of home textiles, and looks very happy in it's good company ;)

A big thank you to Mary Norden, Red's Interiors Director who styled the shoot, Polly Wreford who photographed it, and Liberty who provided the cushion. It's made our week!

Don't you just love the colour story?! Bright.Bazaar has the whole feature up on his blog - so be sure to check it out if you don't have your copy yet...
