We have a big favour to ask of you today! We hope you can help...

The Elle Decoration British Design Awards 2013 are running a little differently to usual... they have opened up nominations to the public to ask you what your favourite products, designs and brands are so that you can submit your favourites via email. We have had such an amazing year, and have worked SO hard on our new collection that we would absolutely love it if you considered nominating some of our products, and our brand, abigail*ryan, to be considered for an award!

There are just two simple steps, and it's really easy!

1:  Have a browse through our newest products, patterns and collections and pick your favourites- just click through to www.abigailryan.com to remind yourself of our range, then....

2: Using the subject heading "BDA NOMINATION", email your choices for each of the categories listed below through to: elledecoration@hearst.co.uk !

1. Product of the year (furniture/accessories)

2. Pattern of the year (tile/wallpaper/fabric etc)
3. Designer of the year (new or established)
4. Destination of the year (eg shop/restaurant/bar/architecture etc)
5. Brand of the year (for a collection that you like, not just one piece)

All have to have been launched/opened between August 2012-August 2013, so you can't choose our teatowels or sale items.

Our new Wallpapers: decor8 style!

Ryan and I were absolutely delighted when the amazing Holly Becker, of decor8 blog fame, featured our new Wallpapers in a preview post, a few weeks ago...

I am absolutely in LOVE with these photographs Holly took of our paper samples, taped up with neon washi, in her gorgeous light and airy Hanover home. Don't they look gorgeous against the white, and with the splash of neon colour? Now there's a styling tip if ever I saw one ;)

...Holly's post had an amazing impact for our launch. We had so many buyers and industry professionals come to our stand at pulse because they had seen her post, so a huge thank you to Holly from us! (xo!)

You can now buy our Wallpaper, in our shop. It will be available to ship from next week.

Our new abigail*ryan Collection - a Preview...

Well, hello! I'm feeling especially chipper as the sun is well and truly shining in Belfast, we've just spent the last couple of hours sitting on our deck knitting and I am full of the joys of Spring (yes, I know it's almost Summer, but as we skipped Spring, I don't want to get too ahead of myself!)...

Sandals on, Sunglasses at the ready! Perfect. 

We have a brand new collection for Home to unveil and preview, too, which is something I'm also really happy about! 

We received the first shots back from the photographer last week, so we could finally put the items up on our site to preview for the next couple of weeks as we wait for final stock to arrive... it's been a real labour of love, so we hope you like the new designs as much as we do. 

Cue: Wallpaper, Napkins, Cushion collection (and soon, Yardage!)...

New Collection Debut at Pulse...

We're back from our annual Pulse London trade show, where we launched our brand new collection of Wallpaper, Yardage and Scatter Cushions...

We presented each colour way as a mini collection (though, you know us and what we like, they also look incredible all MIXED together!) to show each line clearly! We were very proud of our display as we brought it all in just two suitcases all the way from Belfast... Flat pack or what?!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to all the press, buyers and fellow designers who popped by our stand and were so complimentary. A lot of people recognised our Wallpaper from the lovely post Holly at decor8 blog wrote last week, or even made a special trip to seek us out after seeing the new designs explode all over Pinterest! HUGE thanks to Holly, and to everyone who has been so incredibly supportive and positive about the collection. 

We were also really delighted to be given a top ten favourite 'confessions of a design geek loves' tag - COADG was the official blogger for Pulse, and also interviewed us last week, too! Check it out right here...

We are beyond delighted, and humbled.

One of the highlights of Pulse was a lovely designer from Sanderson stopping by to say hello! (Via Holly!) She sees some of the most fabulous wallpapers around and I was so touched when she told me ours were really original, with nothing else quite like them out there on the market... Amazing! I'm so sorry I can't recall the lovely lady's name, but if you're reading this - thank you!! :)

Shows are always fun, especially the social aspect. So great to catch up with our lovely fellow designer friends... great chat and gorgeous collections from Kiss Her by Bianca Hall, Dear Prudence, Mary Kilvert, Helen Lang Wet Paint, Tori Murphy, Jessica Hogarth, Jessica Hayes-Gill and Janey Whitehorn... also so nice to see Zeena Shah, Ham, and Peris and Corr visiting! I'm sure I've forgotten some people!

Forthcoming collection...

We had so much fun signing off our wallpaper last week, making sure everything was just right. Watching your first collection of wallpaper printing is the most amazing and surreal feeling! SO good. Can't wait to share the finished article and get them online in the shop!

First up is launching them at Pulse 2013 in May! Not long now... we are on stand LP58, if you're visiting.

Illustrating Springtime...

Hand-illustrating beautiful flowers is a huge part of what we do here at abigail*ryan, and something we really love... each and every design, pattern, print and product starts with me photographing beautiful flowers, trying to find gorgeous silhouettes and forms that I know will work well with my style of drawing, and then painstakingly interpreting them in pen and ink...

I love making marks with ink, creating deep hatched details, and how you can show the undulations of papery natural forms with some flowing line-work, building up depth and intensity with each line and mark you make.

I also love seeing them transformed with colour later on - it's such a magical process.

Here are some Hellebore's I have been working on. These are becoming the forth napkin design in a box set we are set to launch very soon.
